awzulich Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 I'll give the bottom line first, then background. I could not find the answers in the Wiki or other forum topics When I try to log into admin console, I get two error messages: - Socket Open Failed java.net.connect exception: Connection refused: no further information- XML Parse Error http://192.168.1.148/desc I can then get to the admin console background page, but File>Restore ISY will not work Same result with AVAST disabled Background: ISY was functioning normally, but I lost communication with MobiLinc yesterday afternoon Wes recommended a reboot of ISY, router and modem, and a firmware upgrade to 4.3.26 I did as Wes suggested, and now I am dead in the water Therefore, I can't tell if the issue started yesterday when I lost communication with MobiLinc or during the firmware upgrade, but either way, I am unable to restore the ISY from the backup file.
larryllix Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 This sounds like your ISY has changed it's IP address. IN windows open your Control Panel | Java and find your cached files under the first tab. Check all three boxes and delete your java cached files. Then use the ISY links provided in the ISY firmware announcements to re-install a new admin console. Change your ISY to DHCP fr it's IP address, if not already. Edit your router and set up a permanent assignment of IP address in the reservation table. Reboot ISY Now you can check all your IP address assignments in mobilLinc to match the reserved address you set up in your router. Report back how this went.
awzulich Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Nope .. still have a small black brick Cleared java cache Reinstalled admin console Admin page loads blank, with the same error messages as above Cannot verify/change DHCP because the configuration tab is blank Does the pinhole on the front of the ISY do a factory reset? Should I do a fresh install and load my backup file? What will I lose in the process? I'm afraid I'm reaching my level of (in)competence ...
Teken Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 You may follow this process which will reset the 994 Series Controller to a default state. Please keep in mind if you have extensive programs and settings in place you must have a good known working back up in place. If you don't you will literally have to start from scratch: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Resetting_Your_ISY You may be better served by submitting a service request to UDI to facilitate a remote assistance: http://www.universal-devices.com/contact-support/ Please reference this thread so they can append it being solved once done.
jerlands Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Look at the front panel lights on the ISY, reboot and observe. Jon...
awzulich Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 Success. Before submitting a ticket, I repeated the reboot/admin console install process. I don't know why or how, but it worked. Thanks to all for your help
