New Android App for ISY

Recommended Posts

Tried it on my Samsung S4. It asked for access to identity. Shows it has access in app manager. Still says trial period expired. First attempt was on a Samsung Tab Pro. It asked for access to accounts. Tab Pro is running 5.0.1 S4 has 4.4.4.

It does ask for contact permission. Is there way to enable it!

On pre6.0 Android it doesn't have to ask. Can you pm me your Google account email address and I will check if your hash exists in the trial dB.

Just curious. Why do you need access to Contacts?

I need it to get the Google account. I don't do anything other then grab the logged in Android account for the device , hash it with an embedded salt and store the result and a date. I use this to verify user trial periods.

I wish I didn't need the permission but that's how google set it up.

Just wondering. The permissions list are so vague that there is no telling what they want.

I personally liked a disclaimer I found once that talked about the company being morally opposed to collecting, selling, or otherwise abusing personal information.

Same issue, says trial expired.

The previous issue was because the app was first downloaded and run 30 days from that point.  Can you tell me when you first installed the app.  The app only allows 30 days of free trial period from first install.  The app can not be uninstalled and reinstalled later to get a new trial period.  PM me your gmail login and I will check your first install date.

There are nine options. The $99 option gets you everything and all future options. There are other threads discussing the pricing.

If you install the trial you will see all the options and pricing.

Short and to the point.

Best regards,

Thanks, downloaded the app last night and it worked flawlessly. I'll be purchasing the full version.

The app has a very good solid base can't wait to see the new features you were talking about.  Do you have any plans to work on the GUI and make it more Apple Like (AKA Fancy).  Thanks for taking up the task,

LOL!!!!!!    Apple Fancy.  Thats awesome.

but yes, I do plan on updating the UI to be more intuitive and less mechanical.  I just don't know how.  UI is not one of my finer skills.  I'm hoping to enlist the wife to handle that as she is a fairly qualified web developer on her own.  I hope she can push some of that forward.

A lot of this really depends on its "worthwhileness".  This is not exactly a profitable quest so it is all in spare time right now, and I am in short supply.

Thank you for helping out the cause and please feel free to submit requests and bug reports.  I can't make it better without all of your help.

Any chance you plan on adding camera support?

The ability to add a camera, enter the URL, username, password then when clicked would show the stream?  Showing a thumbnail image from all the cameras would be extra cake.

I have been waiting for an App that can integrate ISY + Elk + Cameras for my wife.  I could get it done with three different apps but would rather everything be integrated into one.

I do not know about true camera support, but I am thinking about adding an integration where a third party camera viewer can be viewed within agave. There are so many good camera viewers on the market, best to just let them to the heavy lifting.

I'm liking this concept. I think that I am going to invest in agave. I'm curious about thermostat control. Are you just able to talk to insteon tstats at the moment? Or do you have other non-insteon devices that you are able to control?

I personally really like that you can rename devices on the app profile only btw. Helps keep the admin side functional while the UI side making sense to the end user.

Back to tstats I'm also wondering what it would take to be able to create a macro like "device" in the UI for multiple tstats controlling a given zone. For example there is a house that has 10 heating zones and 4 cooling zones, (10 radiant floor zones and 4 hvac/AC zones) and I would like to be able to mux the 4 cooling zones with the 10 heating zones.

So heat zones 1-3 overlap with cooling zone 1; heat zones 4-7 overlap with cooling zone 2; heat zone 8-9 overlap with cooling zone 3; heat zone 10 overlaps with cooling zone 4. So the corresponding cooling zone would respond via macro/ifttt type of action, (or whatever) based on the temp setting on the "device" in the UI.

I think that I can accomplish what I want via nodeservers and programs but it would be nice if there were a tstat style of way to interact with that program.

I dunno, thoughts?

Insteon and zwave thermostats are supported.

As for the heat zones.  When NS are stable and are ready for Front end developers you could easily create one that did what you wanted and Agave will support it as long as it supports the thermostat model.
