Folder support?

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to create this app. As an Android user, I have long felt like a second class citizen as far as MobiLinc is concerned. Agave appears to be just what the doctor ordered, and I look forward to seeing how the app progresses over time. In its present state, is there any way to view all of your devices and scenes using the ISY's folder structure? I have well over 100 devices on my network, and it's difficult to quickly find what I am looking for when they are all in one big list.

I second this request!

I'd also like the ability to change the sort order - having a big non-sorted list makes it *very* tiresome to find one device or scene in well over a hundred!

Yep. Even the ability to sort the list alphabetically would be a welcome improvement. As it stand now, there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to the order in which things are listed.

I believe they are displayed in the order returned by the API, which is by folder, then alpha within the folder (I believe).

While I agree with the requests above. The search button makes it easy to find the device or scene you are looking for.

Not really. Typing 'master' for me returns several hits of 'SC - Master Bathroom' where I cannot tell the difference between the scenes. Folders would help this - but it would be better if the entries were not truncated!

This is my fault I have been intensionally truncating the names after the last "-" in the name.   I have removed this and will be out in next patch update.

Unfortunately, based on how I plan on implementing devices (primarily Insteon) the folder support in the ISY does not really conform to what I am doing.  I will add some more sorting options, but until then I hope the search ability will help you out.

Note: If you can thing of other criteria to search on that might make that easier I would take that as helpful as well.

Can you please elaborate on this. How exactly do you plan on implementing devices, and why would this preclude ISY folder support?

In general Insteon devices may or may not have multiple nodes, but in my app I am attempting to to hide this fact.  For example the IOLinc.  This is made up of 2 separate nodes, a sensor and a switch.  In my app your do not see both of these nodes, just one device.  If someone has each one of those nodes in a separate folder, only the folder with the primary node would still show that individual node.  If I were to display each of those nodes separately it would negate what I am trying to accomplish with this app.  I have maintained from the start that this is a home automation app that uses the ISY to make a simple interface for controlling your Insteon/other supported devices easy from a mobile device.  It is "not" an app for controlling the ISY.  The ISY is a great product and can do many things, but it is not very user friendly.  I do not plan on implementing all of the features of the ISY into my app.  It is an administration panel and my app is not meant to do the same thing.

The device selection screen is VERY painful. I like the search function but I don't know where you've chosen to put things. I cannot find my IOLinc relay node anywhere. Clicking through multiple categories and click search each time is way too difficult. I really don't think my IOLinc Relay is showing up anywhere.

It would make things easier if there was an "All" category that included every device that I could then use the search option to filter and find what I'm looking for.

Maybe have another node category for "ISY Folders" that listed all devices by folders as they exist in ISY.

I can do that.
