Noremac Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 I had a bad PLM and replaced it today. From the ISY console, I restored the PLM, and also restored every Insteon device. I can query and command individual devices from the console. But the problem now is that the ISY console cannot control any scenes! When I select a scene, I can no longer see the settings for how the scene will be setup when commanded by the ISY. See attached screen grab. What did I do wrong?
stusviews Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Did you follow these instructions to the letter? If not, then start again following the instructions.
Noremac Posted November 24, 2016 Author Posted November 24, 2016 Yes, I followed those instructions. I do have a backup ISY file. Is there a way to completely reset the ISY, the PLM, and all devices?
stusviews Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 You may want to try restoring the modem again first. From LeeG: Unplug the PLM for 30 seconds. Disconnect cable going to the ISY. Press and hold Set button on PLM BEFORE plugging it in. Hold Set button for 10 seconds after plugging it in. Reconnect cable to ISY. Do a Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Links Table to confirm PLM configuration reset. From UDI: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Resetting_Your_ISY
Techman Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Noremac, I noticed that your Remotelinc is showing v.00. It most likely didn't install properly. You should delete and reinstall it. When installing/linking battery operated devices make sure only one battery operated device is in the linking mode at any one time and that the device is within close proximity to a dual band device to insure RF coupling.
Noremac Posted November 24, 2016 Author Posted November 24, 2016 Techman- Good catch. I have re-restored all again, and most things are working. However, the Remotelinc you noted (which is the original #2440) is still showing v.00. I actually like the old Remotelincs, but they don't seem to play well with other current Insteon hardware/software, and they are very difficult to get linked up.
Brian H Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 The earlier firmware always added my 2440 as a v.00. The latest firmware now finds mine as v.33 My 2440s also don't always play nice with the latest Insteon devices. It will not manually link to my Alert Modules as the ISY994i firmware doesn't support it yet. It also will not link to the latest hardware 2413S PLM unless as far away from the PLM as it can be.

Seems the old RL's can be somewhat problematic. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/19294-communication-issues/?hl=%2Bremotelinc+%2B2440&do=findComment&comment=181041 Edited November 24, 2016 by Techman
Noremac Posted November 25, 2016 Author Posted November 25, 2016 Thanks for the advice on the old 2440 RemoteLincs. I deleted and re-added the one that was showing v.00, which now shows v.35. I also had success linking it after moving as far away from the PLM as possible. Thanks for all the links and suggestions!
