BR1060 Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 I have a 2477D Dimmer Switch in my Master Bedroom that controls the Fan Lights. I have setup a Day/Night Scene that changes the ON LEVEL to 35% based on SUNSET and 100% based on SUNRISE. This Scene controls several other switches as well and it works as expected for the Kitchen and Formal Dining. For whatever reason, it's hit or miss with the Master Bedroom. After further testing, I have come to realize its because 'PROGRAM LOCK' gets enabled. I manually disable, but after X where X seems somewhat random, it get's re-enabled. What can I do to help figure out what the heck is causing this switch to Lock as it prevents my scene from changing the ON level? The only programs that control it are: ALL OFF Program This turns all lights off, (about 10 other Insteon 2477D Dimmers, where they never experience a PROGRAM LOCK) Amazon ALEXA can control this Program Double Tap Master Bedroom On or Double Tap Off Changes the state of 2 Z-wave Dongles and turns off Master Closet Light and Master Bathroom This doesn't seem to cause it, once again, no other light is affected The only thing I have yet to test that *might* be problematic, is that the Master Bedroom and the 2 Z-Wave Dongles are in an Amazon Alexa 'Group'. I'm not sure if when I ask Alexa to turn off the Group, if this causes the Program Lock. Anyways - there you have it, any ideas to help debug would be appreciated!
stusviews Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 I've never heard of Program Lock enabling itself. My only suggestion is to remove the device from the Alexa and wait and see if the problem recurs.
Teken Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 My suggestion is to do a hard reset of the device per the full users manual and then select restore device and see what happens. If that fails then my next step would be to delete the hardware from the controller. Perform another hard reset to factory state and add the hardware back to the controller. If the program lock comes back after this step its defective . . .
