Teken Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I received a news cast of another smart curtain product which is being hosted at IndiGoGo now: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/slide-make-your-existing-curtains-smart-gadget/x/14274621#/ You may review a short article about this project here: http://newatlas.com/slide-smart-curtains/47345/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=flipboard I think its great so many small companies are getting into this field as it places pressure on the incumbents to do better and offer greater value in this space. As of this writing there is no less than five separate companies seeking crowd funding support. Many of them have achieved the stated funds required to bring to market the final product. What I like most about these concept / ideals are the bulk of them are intended for retro fit. Meaning you don't need to purchase new blinds, shutters, curtains to make them automated. This in the short term offers the best value - not necessarily the best long term home automation integration. Like many here, I have shown my direct support by backing *Some* projects. Which I believe has legs and shown there is a enough public need and want in this area. Unfortunately, some have been let down or burnt in showing that very same support! I don't know if this product will succeed but its a nice alternative for those having existing curtains. My plan moving forward has been to monitor the various products and the crowd funding feedback of the vendors / users. To better gauge the product, service after the sale, and Gotcha's. Should you see value in the above projects feel free to do so . . .
