Is the VRUSB-1US the best option?

 

I'm jumping in the HA pool and from my reading, along with my ISY & Elk I will need an installer stick. None of the ones I've looked at seem to get very good reviews.

 

I plan on 2 Z-wave networks. I'm going to let the Elk do the door locks and garage doors. With the ISY doing all the rest. Is this a reasonable approach or something born of my inexperience? 

 

Many thanks for all the information I have already absorbed and all yet to come.
