Michaelv Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 I was trying to add Insteon Model 2441ZTH Thermostat to my system and I get a New Device error. ( Cannot determine Insteon Engine ) See the attachement. Any suggestions? I have an access point within 10 feet of this thermostat. Thanks
Brian H Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Since it is a battery operated module and is in a power saving mode. Did you wake it up by holding the Set Button until it beeps before trying to add it?
Michaelv Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 Yes, The ISY can see the Thermostat but shortly after I click on the finished button ( Link Devices) the error message comes up. MV

Michaelv Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 ISY 994i/IR Pro (1110) Firmware Insteon_UD994 v.4.5.4 ( 2016-09-30-16:12:25) UI Insteon_UD994 v.4.5.4 ( 2016-09-30-16:12:25) It is about 12 feet from a access point and closer to A few Dual band switches.

The ISY is seeing the thermostat as it's detecting its firmware version. You might want to try a reboot on the ISY. Maybe also try a fresh set of batteries.
stusviews Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Did you do a factory reset on the thermostat after changing the batteries?
