MobiLinc and Alexa update 3-13-2017

Hi Folks,

We pushed out two updates to the MobiLinc Alexa Smart Home skill servers today that hopefully will address two issues that have been reported by several users since we launched a little over a week ago. Thank you for everyone's patience as we worked to get these fixed.

1. Those that were running into the "That device doesn't work on device X" should see an improvement. Under certain conditions, the command could fail for about an hour before the conditions were right to get cleared. This is fixed. Please let me know if you continue to see this as we still have an open ticket with Amazon to investigate their side of this.

2. Those that couldn't get the Alexa Smart Home skill to Discover Devices should now be fixed. This was impacting those with plural names like "Wes's light". Amazon was silently failing accepting the device list from our servers. With user's help we were able to isolate the root cause and get a fix in place to address it. If you had this issue, say "Alexa, discover devices" to try pulling in your device list again.

Wes - I experienced it again Tuesday March 14 starting at 130pm mst. I got the "that device doesn't work..." message. It stopped working for about 5 hours.

Hi Mark,

Yes, that timeframe lines up with a COX internet service provider incident yesterday in the southwest US impacting AZ and NV and other areas. COX customers were unable to use Amazon services like Alexa due to an internal COX routing issue to Amazon.
