GDavis01 Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 I finally got around to my cottage to update a number of things. Last night, I installed v5.0.7 on the ISY. Then I installed a new RPI3, with a copy of the image from my RPI3 at home. At home, I have Nodelink setup on the RPI3 / ISY with my DSC alarm system (Envisalink 4). So, when I started things up here, Nodelink was looking for the DSC! I then realized that I had to manually erase 43 alarm nodes from the ISY! Today, I installed the Venstar T7900 thermostat. Moving back to Nodelink, I set up the parameters required to see the Venstar and it now seems to be working with a few odd things! - On the ISY at the top it shows the Venstar as n001_ven1-Venstar Colortouch Thermostat (F) whereas I set the thermostat in Celsius! I don't remember seeing an option to choose between F or C! I see that when, on the ISY, I click on Nodeservers --> isylink --> Add Node I see that I can add either a Venstar Colortouch Thermostat (F) or a Venstar Colortouch Thermostat ©... can I just add the © version and delete the (F) version? Is there a difference between the two? - at the bottom of the screen on the Venstar node, on the ISY, the dialog boxes to change various parameters do not work for the Heat Setpoint and the Cool Setpoint! In addition, they are different from those displayed in the top section! Any thoughts on what is causing this?
io_guy Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 NodeLink should install the F/C node based on what is returned from the thermostat. I'd try removing it and adding it again (after NodeLink successfully polls the thermostat). Only difference between the two is the units. The setpoint values not matching I likely due to the incorrect F/C.
GDavis01 Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 Thanks... Looking back at what I did, I now realize that when I installed the thermostat I had the readings in F. Then I installed the nodes on the ISY, which is why the ISY shows the device as F. However, I subsequently changed the thermostat to C readings without thinking about the impact! I will try removing it and adding it back.
larryllix Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 I don't think F/C matters to ISY except for device reporting in notifications. It appends an F/C to the values. Other than that it's just a 32 bit signed binary number.
GDavis01 Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 NodeLink should install the F/C node based on what is returned from the thermostat. I'd try removing it and adding it again (after NodeLink successfully polls the thermostat). Only difference between the two is the units. The setpoint values not matching I likely due to the incorrect F/C. I only was able to get to this today since I couldn't access my cottage ISY remotely until a little while ago! I did as you suggested and it now shows the correct type of thermostat "C" and the setpoints below are showing the correct values. Thanks.
