Posted April 8, 20178 yr How frustrating can this Z-wave stuff be? I have four Yale T1L Z-wave locks and five Aeotec sirens to act as repeaters and still cannot get two of the four locks into the ISY. I've read the multiple posts and tried this: Factory reset the dongle Upgraded the firmware (now on firmware version 4.55, bootloader version 1.03) Added the sirens, no issue with adding these and they work fine. We have a 2,000 square foot house and I have the five sirens spread one end of the house to the other placed as equidistant to the four locks as I can get them. Before each device was added, exclude them first After each device was successfully added: synchronize nodes (all), repair links, heal network Yet, two of the four locks refuse to be recognized. Did a factory reset on both of those locks, tried holding in the Yale link button, tapping it once, twice, three, ten times - no luck. One of the two problematic locks is between two of the sirens, one of those six feet away, the other eight feet away. I go back to try and exclude them with the same process No luck with excluding, no luck with including I'm out of ideas and just about out of patience. What haven't I tried?
April 8, 20178 yr Bring the ISY and the locks together. Like within a couple/few feet of each other. Repeaters will be necessary after inclusion, but while inculding they need to be really close together.
April 8, 20178 yr The secure Z-Wave join requires for them to be within 30cm of each other. So detach the lock and bring it to the ISY and do the join. Or get a really long extension cord and Network cable to bring the ISY to the lock. Once you've joined all your locks, put everything back in its proper position and do a Z-Wave Network Heal. It's the biggest pain in the butt ever (I have 3 Yale locks myself). Has anyone had any luck using the Leviton USB stick to do the joins and then transfer the master to the ISY? April 9, 20178 yr Author Thank you both. I made a long network cable and can try moving the ISY to the lock. Interesting in that for the two locks I was able to get included, the repeaters worked sufficiently or I just had a fluke of good luck.
