I answered their survey. I told them I won't buy any until they develop a local API.

I love the idea and I can think of several applications, but I am a bit annoyed that a basic probe is not included with the device except as n option. As it is I can use a much less expensive tag to monitor temperatures in most of my prospective applications. The most attractive aspect of this is its long battery life.

 

I agree with Gary that having the API available to UDI would greatly increase the overall utility of the device.

I filled out their survey for a few basic probe types.

 

My comments were

 

"I already own several of your Tags. Without a local API, I cannot use them for serious applications"

Did the same, maybe they will take notice. Also without going too far off topic maybe we should also go to their Google forum, create a thread and see if others will join in with opinions outside the ISY group here.

 

My comment on the survey:

 

"This device would be even more useful with a local API. CAO tags with cloud access only cannot be used in a serious application that could damage property."
