Can't successfully re-add Ecobee3 device

Trying to re-add my Ecobee3 device to ISY/Nodelink.   It installs the Ecobee and Weather Node in the ISY but never shows any data.  I have tried reinstalling and using new pins numerous times.   I can only get a new pin when the delete the device and re-add it from the Nodelink UI.  When I press the request new pin button I get Ecobee: Error refreshing token.     I have added and remove the Nodelink application from the Ecobee Online numerous times and that doesn't help.   I'm at a lost at what to try next since this was working before.

I requested new pins several times and that is when I get the Ecobee token error you see in the log.   I had to remove the device and re-add it to get a new pin and I have done that numerous times.  I then remove the app from Ecobee  Online and re-add with the new pin.  It will create the Ecobee Thermostat and Weather nodes on the ISY but they never received any data.  In addition, even though I have the first two options set on the Ecobee configuration page  I never get the Install Nodes button like I use to or like the  DSC page has on it.

You won't get the install nodes button until it successfully grabs data from Ecobee.  The nodes being created in the ISY is normal.

So when you remove, add and get new pin, what error does the log show?

I don't get an error unless I try to request  a new pin.   When I re-add the device it adds the nodes and I just don't see any data.   The only error I get is Error refreshing  tokens and if it continues request a new pin.   However, when I request a new pin I get that same error.

Okay ,  I'm not sure what actually fixed the problem but it is working now.  Shown below are the ten steps I took to resolve the issue but not sure which if any was the actual solution:

  1. Restored my ISY to previous backup
  2. Restored machine I run Nodelink on
  3. Installed Nodelink 7.3
  4. Deleted Ecobee device from Nodelink
  5. Deleted Ecobee and Weather node from ISY
  6. Deleted Nodelink App from Ecobee Online
  7. Re-Added Ecobee Thermostat to Nodelink - and got a new pin - restarted Nodelink - Restarted ISY
  8. Re-added Nodelink app to Ecobee Online using new pin
  9. Finally, got the Install ISY  Nodes Button which of course I pressed
  10. Nodes created and information in ISY was updated immediately :-D

Is there a guide on the ecobee integration? I see that there are two ecobee models the 3 and 4. One thing I want to add to my system this season is a whole house humidifier. I see that the ecobee 4 supports a humidifier but the 3 does not. I'm wondering if in conjunction with ISY and nodelink, I can gain control and functionality of an aprilaire 700 using an ecobee 3 or do I need to bite the bullet and get the ecobee 4. I don't need (or want for that matter) the Alexa integration.

ecobee3 support whole house humidifiers.

IIRC there is one spare contact output that can control your choice of humidifier, dehumidifier or HRV.  I use the internal registers via NodeLink to control humidifier and HRV through ISY programs.

My HRV logic uses both humidifier and dehumidifier settings to allow a wider bandwidth of allowance for the logic to run my fresh air intake.
