Carl314 Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 (Using 5.0.10E). I have Samsung Smarthings as my primary Z-Wave controller, with all devices properly named, and organized into rooms. I just installed the Z-Wave module and have the ISY 994 set as the secondary controller. Following the instructions here, my devices were imported with indecipherable names (ZW 002 Color Switch, ZW 004 Energy Meter, etc). Is there a way to import device names? If not, how do I figure out what names to give them in the ISY w/o fliping every switch and having my wife tell me what changed? Thanks for any assistance. Carl.
danbutter Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Probably not much help, but could you toggle in ISY admin console and watch the smart things equivalent? Just a thought.

Carl314 Posted December 2, 2017 Author Posted December 2, 2017 Excellent idea - it doesn't solve the problem of double-entering all of the names, but it sure does save walking all over the house to figure out what light came on! Thanks for your help.
asbril Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Can someone explain to me : What is the purpose of a second controller ? Is it a simple back-up or is there another purpose ? How would I set up a second controller ?
Carl314 Posted December 3, 2017 Author Posted December 3, 2017 Here are the instructions to have the ISY as the secondary controller: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Z-Wave_GenII_-_Instructions#ISY_as_a_Secondary_Controller As for the purpose, I use Samsung Smartthings as my primary zwave controller, but want to be able to bridge insteon and zwave devices, have them talk to each other, etc. I believe having the ISY as the secondary zwave controller will do this, but I've not tried it yet. Carl.
