larryllix Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Thanks Gary! Interesting twist of intentions. Go amazon! (now that we are allowed to say their name in Canada)
G W Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Another interesting article... http://theweek.com/speedreads/745115/amazon-continues-quest-enter-home-youre-not-there
stusviews Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Great. I was just looking for someone unbeknownst to me to be able to disable my security system at a time of their choosing. I hope they can do it while I'm away. I really don't want to be disturbed when I not home. I'll see if I can get a permit to secure parking for them. Best of all, I don't have to worry about a lost key. I can give Amazon a few for if and when I lose mine. The only difficulty I see is that I may get sued if they trip while groping around in the dark. Oh, wait. I have motion sensors for that. What luck
larryllix Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Need the old milkboxes back! Like the doors between double rooms in the hotel...lock from both sides. Package sits in between.
TrojanHorse Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 This all seems absolutely crazy to me. I couldn’t wrap my mind around it until I realized that Amazon doesn’t just want to deliver your packages. They / Bezos want(s) to rule the world. Their camera, lock etc is a step in that direction. It might/will help sell their consumer services - dog walking, cleaning, handyman, bang-your-wife-while-you’re-away-and-productive (Prime members only), etc. You and I and others here won’t buy it. Hope they never require this sht to guarantee deliveries. But some (especially the millennials that the old folks failed to raise properly) will think it’s a fantastic option.
