tcumbo Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 I recently removed some devices from outlets after the holidays, and it seems that OTHER devices I am still using cannot be updated or reached. I get that green arrow with "1011" next to it constantly. Sometimes they respond, sometimes it just seems like my ISY is just trying over and over to reach it. What is happening? It's affected at least half my devices at some point - some recovered? Attached is the pic of my devices
stusviews Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 That's usually an indication of a communication difficulty. As a start, use a long extension cord to power the ISY from a distant circuit. While the ISY is unplugged make note of the 4-digit date code on a white sticker (back of PLM). What's the code?
giomania Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 I have been experiencing similar issues over the last couple months mostly with LampLinc’s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
tcumbo Posted January 13, 2018 Author Posted January 13, 2018 Here is my PLC - - I don't see a date on it. Oddly I can control them On and Off, but I can never get them to take a write of Links.
Techman Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Here is my PLC - - I don't see a date on it. Oddly I can control them On and Off, but I can never get them to take a write of Links. The manufacture date is the 31st week of 2009. Do a PLM link count during a period when the ISY is not busy. If the link count is low then it's time to replace the PLM. The new PLM's have updated hardware and firmware.

Try plugging the LampLinc into the same circuit. You may have new noisemaker in your wiring. Linking takes a lot more data transfer than a simple report an event data length. More chances to fail.
tcumbo Posted January 14, 2018 Author Posted January 14, 2018 I only have 29 links in my PLM table . but I oddly everything seems to be OK now.
Techman Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 I only have 29 links in my PLM table . but I oddly everything seems to be OK now. How many devices do you have installed? That link count sounds very low and usually indicates a failing PLM.
Brian H Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 V1.0 is the original hardware release. I would suspect it is failing. As any 2413S PLM over two years and a few months old. Is prone to power supply failing. Low Link Database Count is also an indication. Unless you only have a few modules. The count is low.
larryllix Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 It has been reported many times on this forum that the PLM link report will stop as soon as some data traffic happens. This means that any count with a low count may mean nothing. People pushed the idea of successive tries at the link reporting methods and not putting any value in the actual reports. Try it again, a few more times, in an Insteon quiet house.
stusviews Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 I only have 29 links in my PLM table . but I oddly everything seems to be OK now. Failing PLMs will do that, that ism give varying results, Working, not working, working again, etc. As larryllix suggested, try again several times during the quietest time. The results will vary, but should be relatively stable.
