Odd behavior trying to link replacement on/off to my new 994i

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, long time since I've had instead issues... but I am replacing a few dead switch (why did I buy Icons back in the day, they are all dying!)

and also finally replaced my 99i after almost 8+ years of trusty service.  So I have the 994i up and running well, however as I am replacing switch I am having troubles getting the 994i to find them.  (Just as aside I am using the same PLM that I had with my 994i, if that is of any value)

So I started trying to do a bit more troubleshooting today and observed the following:

Replacement on/off switch (2477S) for a light ballast in my home office.  When I go to register the switch in the 994i control panel, I can visibly see the light on the switch go off, once the ISY starts talking to it, then I get an error message: "- Cannot determine Insteon Engine)

I've factory reset the switch to now avail.

Any thoughts??

I'm having trouble with another replacement switch as well (a model 2477D)

Here is the comms log from the event viewer.

Confirm in the Help -> About both the UI & Firmware match and using the latest release. If they both match get a old electrical cord and cut the end off and wire it to the switch and plug it into the same outlet as the 2413S PLM.

Try to add the hardware . . .
