My ISY-994iZW Pro is busy and not responding properly

I recently upgraded to this new unit and at first, everything seemed to work fine, however, something has changed and now the Rx LED is rapidly flashing most of the time (it seems) and the unit does not always respond when this is happening. By that I mean I cannot turn things on or off using the admin console, MobileLinc, or voice. This behavior is not constant as the unit sits on my desk and I can monitor the LEDs on the front panel.

I have attached a log from the event viewer with the status/operational events hoping someone can help me figure out what's going on when this is happening.

It appears that you may have a program that's in a continuous loop. Right click on your programs and disable them until you find the one causing the problem

I thought that too at first, but I didn't think to disable ALL programs. I did that, rebooted, and the system was worse than before as the RX LED would not stop flashing. Now, either way the system seems to be in a perpetual busy state. I don't know what to do.

Could the firmware have been corrupted when I originally restored the ISY from a backup? After a hard reboot the Rx LED is solid blue.

Take a look at this chart. It appears that you have a communication problem between the PLM and the ISY

Thank you, Techman. I did that and it seems to be working now. Grrr... I spoke too soon, the RX LED is not solid, but it's rapidly blinking.,. The PLM is a brand-new one I had in storage as a spare for my other ISY. I hope it isn't dying. Tomorrow I will replace the network cable and see if that does anything.

If you rebooted the ISY it's normal for the RX light to flash for a few minutes

I replaced the network cable last night before going to bed and that did not help. I tried controlling the devices in my bedroom using an Amazon Dot and my devices were not responding. This morning I performed A Restore Modem (PLM) and now everything seems to be working fine.

Before that, when looking at all my devices, I noticed a TriggerLinc in the master bathroom acting erratically. I know I should have just performed a factory reset on that device and relinked it to the ISY, however, for reasons I won't get into now, it was easier for me to perform a Restore Modem and I'll worry about my battery-operated devices later. (I only have 4, at the moment).

Update: I was able to link all of my battery-operated devices except for 1 (2421) TriggerLinc v.00 (in the master bathroom). The icon to the left stays green as if writes were pending.

I believe the issue is now solved. Thanks for your help. Who knew it could be something as simple as that?

After doing a restore modem each battery device needs to be put into the linking mode. and then click on write updates to that device.

ONLY one battery operated device should be in the linking mode at any one time otherwise the link tables will get corrupted.

Thanks, that's good to know. It looks as if I will have to toss one of my TriggerLinc's.

This little fiasco has been a learning experience for sure.
