Run Service in Background off, still shows Agave Service running?

Although I've disabled the "Run Service in Background" option, my phone still always shows the "Agave Service Running" notification unless I explicitly close the app from the recent apps list.

While I know I can turn off just the notification via "Display service notification," my concern is more that the service continues to run.  Can this be avoided, so I don't have to explicitly close Agave after every use? I don't mind that it needs to reconnect to the ISY next time I access the app, I'm more concerned about continual battery use from maintaining a connection in the background.

Android does not stop activities if they are minimized.  I could stop the service when the app was minimized, but it would cause a lot more data usage then wanted for each time you minimized to check another app and switch back to Agave.  Now swiping Agave off the recent apps list or back-buttoning out is the proper way to tell android the stop the app.  This will in tern stop the connected service and it not set in the preferences prevent it from getting restarted automatically by the android system.  This is the simplest way I could accommodate the majority of situations and maintain a simple app interaction .

Let me know if you have further questions.

Oh! I wasn't even aware that back-buttoning out is a standard way to exit - brand new Android user, just moved over from iPhone last week.  Good to know :)

Regarding stopping the service when it's minimized though, what about having a timeout after which it stops?  So that if you're just switching back and forth between apps it won't stop & restart every time, but after, say, 15 minutes of non-use it would stop?  (Unless of course the user checks the option to always keep it running)
