I am attempting to monitor the number of starts on my water heater exhaust fan.  Attached are two programs that accomplish the task.  I would like to simply monitor the state of the Aeotec switch and have it increment the variable without the use of the INSTEON module.  Am I missing something obvious?

ISY 994i Pro with Z-Wave module installed
