flsenior Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 (edited) I have an Insteon 8 button keypad connected to 4 Cree LED Retrofit downlights. My keypad has a audible buzz/noise. The sound level will somewhat diminish as I lower the light from 100% to 50%. Is there anything that I can do to eliminate or significantly reduce the sound at the higher light levels? Brian H Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 Wanted to verify. Are the Cree's dimmable? Most of their products are. Can you tell if the noise or buzz is coming from the electronics and not its buzzer? Some dimmers will buzz when near 100% On. Maybe you have one with a slightly loosely wound coil in it.
flsenior Posted May 27, 2018 Author Posted May 27, 2018 The lights are dimmable. I have them installed in other rooms with the same 8 button keypad without any issues. The buzz comes from the dimmer itself. I would guess that it is the electronics.
