HELP? Amazon Echo will not link to ISY using Smart Home V3

Hi team!

I've been fighting with my Amazon Echo to get it to link with my ISY994i (running 4.6.2).  I'm not new to either of these products and have had this similar configurations set up at a different location.  When trying to set this up where I live now, I get the following reply (error?) from Alexa after trying to ENABLE the skill and log into the ISY portal

The portal is set up correctly with the correct address of the ISY994i device.  The Amazon account is also enabled in the ISY portal.

I've run out of ideas, even bad ones to try.  I also have not really found anyone encountering this same message either.  I've only tried to link the two about 20x with no success.

Help?

Best regards, Pat

I have no clue what the issue can be, but if you PM me your UUID, I will look at the logs and see if I can find anything suspicious.

Please specify a date/time (with time zone) of a failed request.

Thank you for the quick reply and offer to look at what might be going wrong.  The last time I tried and failed was today at ~ 2:00pm (Mountain time).  It fails every time, so easy to reproduce.

I see the account linking attempts, and everything looks good from here.

I would suggest to either try with Amazon support or perhaps reset the echo.

You could also try the following:

  1. Go to www.amazon.com
  2. Login
  3. Go to Your Account
  4. Under Other Account, click on Login With Amazon. If you see something relate to UDI, click to remove it.

I'm having the same problem.  Same message, and I haven't been able to get around it.

I tried it and I'm seeing the same problem.

There seems to be an issue at Amazon. I'm contacting Amazon support.

Hi folks,  sorry to take so long to get back to you.  First of all - thank you Benoit, my problem was resolved with your guidance.  All I ended up having to do was shut everything down (log out of the ISY), close to browser (log out of Amazon), reboot (power down/up) Alexa, clear the cache and start everything up again... and it worked just as it should have in the first place.

I do think the issue was on the Amazon side and that logging out of the site, clearing the cache, etc did the trick.

I'm not sure that what you did helped.

I had the problem. Retried many times. Then tonight it suddenly worked. I think Amazon solved something in the last few hours.

Benoit, my problem was from 07/07/18 and that was when I solved the issue.  I simply got busy and forgot to reply until I saw ansersonl with the same issue.

Just gave it another try - still having the same problem.

I tried it again just now - (5:40PM EDT).  No change - still cannot link the account.

I had it working nicely with the previous version of the skill.  Let me know what I can do to help diagnose this.

When I tried again yesterday, somehow I had a sort of reCaptcha I had to enter, then it worked. Not sure why I had that. Initially, I though Amazon might have solved something.

This behavior leads me to think it may be something related to the Amazon profile somewhere.

This might be an issue with a cookie or cache too, but I doubt it because when it was not working, I had tried 3 browsers and experienced the same issue. I tried IE and Firefox, which I very rarely use.

I think a support call to Amazon might help.
