Multiple KPL for the same room

Hello fellow wireheads. This is my first post. I have been experimenting with Insteon devices now for a few years and have multiple devices and an ISY 994i setup and working. The issue I am running into I this.. Let me setup the scene for you... I have 3 KPLs, one at each entrance to my kitchen, and have them all setup to operate the same scenes. There are two scenes.. for lack of better names.. I named them "All" and "Chill" to coincide with the button labels "A" and "C" respectively. Now.. KPL1 powers the kitchen floods, KPL2 powers the pantry floods, KPL3 powers the kitchen sink spots. The "All" scene turns everything on at 100%. The "Chill" scene turns everything on at 20%. The devices that both scenes control are the 3 devices the 3 KPLs power and the island pendants lights which are controlled by an InLineLinc Dimmer. My issue.. is that when I press the "A" button on KPL1.. everything turns on except the lights that KPL1 powers. When I press the "A" button on KPL2.. everything turns on except the lights that KPL2 powers. Etc. Now I have checked my configuration in the ISY and those lights that the various KPL power are setup as responders to the scenes. I have no idea why they don't act the same if they are all using the same scenes to control the various devices. What am I missing here??

Thanks,

6 or 8 button KPL? My real question is does A button control the load for that switch and act as controller for All scene? 8 button KPL Or does A control only the All scene which includes the on button for that switch. 6 button KPL.

That is correct

The experts will need to confirm but I recall having issues with KPL buttons controlling the load in that same switch. I’ll look but I think I created a work around.

Does the Chill scene work?

Any chance the keypads were originally 8 button and converted to 6? If you don't know, you can tell by clicking on one in the admin console  and reading the information at the top of the screen under its name. In addition to the model number, it will say 8 button or 5 button.

They are all original 6 button KPLs.

(2334-2) KeypadLinc Dimmer 5 Buttons v.45

Yes, the Chill scene works. I think that scene controls the load. Will have to verify.

I use 3 keypads in a kitchen / family room for a similar purpose and it works fine. I did convert a 6 to an 8 and had some confusion.

I suggest factory resetting one of them, and then right click on it and pick restore device (you do not need to delete the keypad from the ISY or change the scenes)

Retest and see if that does it.

Make sure for you've copied the scene levels for each controller in the scene. You can troubleshoot by running from admin console.  If it works there is a level issue with one of the controllers.
