Ecobee: Access temp from Remote Sensors

Featured Replies

I want to be able to access the temps from the remote sensors for Ecobee to use them as a variable in a program. I am able to access and see the main Ecobee thermostat in the Admin console and I see the temps for the remote sensors being displayed in NodeLink, just can't figure out how to access the remote sensors in ISY.

What I want to do should be fairly straight forward.

If sensor temp >= 78 degrees, then turn on ceiling fan.

My experience level:
I just got my first ISY device ever about 2 days ago. I migrated off of HCA. Got everything that was working on HCA over and working on ISY. Now I want to dig into the cool stuff.
I can make the fan turn on in a program using the main Ecobee thermostat temp, but I really want to use the sensor located in the room that the fan is in.

Any thoughts?

Hi and welcome to the UDI forums!

You should see the ecobee as a device displayed in the ISY device tree with subnodes. Initially they should show at the top. The remote sensor should be a value you can access directly with an ISY program. You can use the Variable operand in programs and assign the sensor value to a variable.

Can you past a snippet of your ISY device tree (main) with everything expanded back here in a response?

Thanks Paulbates and io_guy for the responses.

io_guy had the right idea. I thought that "Enable Sensor ISY Nodes" was referring to Insteon type sensors, so I didn't check that off. As soon as I did the data became available.

Thanks again!
