geekdad Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Hello. I have had a power problem last night (still not sure what happened) and it looks like the PLM needs replacing. Is the 2413S still the only model that works or can I use the 2413U. (only reason I'm asking is Amazon is out of the 2413S and I'd like to be up in less than the week Smarthome will take to get me a product). Any help would be great.
Techman Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 The ISY requires the 2413S unless you're using only Zwave Your best bet , if feasible, is to order it from Smarthome to insure you're getting the latest firmware and hardware release Are you sure your PLM died, what are the systems?. What's working and what's not working?
geekdad Posted August 12, 2018 Author Posted August 12, 2018 Thanks for your reply. Everything I run connects through the PLM. So all the devices and stand alone scenes run. Any programming or notifications through the ISY are down. I can access the ISY and it gives me the fun safe mode reference. (Of course I performed the reset and nada.) So I am guessing it is the PLM. Though it does concern me that none of the programs appear in the ISY. All the variables are still listed. I am not certain, though hopeful, that those will return when I put in a new PLM. I do have a 10 month old program backup, but of course, my annual backup isn't until October 1st. And I know that I have written a bunch since then. So I wpuld say everything works manually and nothing in an automated way as of this minute. Would you have any recomendations on how to verify the ISY is still functional? Thank you again for your assistance.

If the ISY displays SAFE mode when you open the admin console then try this https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON_Safe_Mode_Dialog You might also try removing power from the ISY, then remove and replace the ISY's SD card and then power it back up Note: the data for the SCENES is contained in the individual devices not the ISY or PLM.
geekdad Posted August 19, 2018 Author Posted August 19, 2018 Hello. I recieved amd installed the PLM and the performance seems degraded dramatically. Some examples and I have no idea if these are related or if they require separate fixes. I regularly recieve cannot communicate with device X this was rare and now is a daily occuance. The water and door sensors seem not to be able to reconnect at all. I have tried removing and relinking them manually. Triggered programs do not seem to function. For example, when I kick on my bath fan it should start the towel warmer. Nothing. Manually kicking the run then statement works. This does not seem to correlate with the lost connection notifications. Any suggestions? Or has anyone seen something similar after PLM replacement?
