Multiple Housholds

Featured Replies

Google home has added support for multiple homes.  I have an isy in each home connected to my insteon lights.  I have mobilinc on each isy.  I have one household connected to google home for a while and it works well. Is there a way to connect the second household?

I'm not aware of native Google Home support for multiple homes. Can you share what you have seen?

For now, the only method I know you could use is ISY to ISY communication using Rest commands & network resources, but it's rather tedious. This involves Alexa controlling a program, which runs a network resource which talks to the other ISY through ISY Portal.

Native support for multiple households came out about two weeks ago.  If you set language to ENGLISH/US you seem to get new features sooner than English/Canada.

This could be made to work with the portal by just allowing one portal account to send devices from all ISY's not just the default one. Then we can move them to the appropriate home and room in the Google home app. Otherwise I have to use a different Google account for each home.

I have two homes. Presently, only one has an ISY, which I use for leak detection and lights. I access it remotely through MobiLinc Connect and the app on my iPhone. I want to add a new ISY to my second home for similar devices and, again use MobiLinc Connect to operate those devices using my cell phone. Can I access the Admin Console for the new ISY from two pc’s (one pc on-site at the new home and the other pc remotely from my pc at the old house)?

You should ask that on the mobilinc forum. I don't use mobilinc and this thread is about Google Home devices.

So happy this works now! Hopefully my suggestion prompted the enhancement [emoji3]
