leonpc Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 It seems like SmartHome in their infinite wisdom have decided to stop the manufacturing of the 2477SA 220V / 240V 30 AMP INSTEON Load Controller (Dual-Band). I wanted to use it to switch the power to the hot tub pump. Any recommendations for replacements... I am looking at these: https://www.amazon.com/Aeon-Labs-White-V3-26-AL001/dp/B00MBIRF5W https://www.amazon.com/GE-Appliance-Required-Works-SmartThings-14285/dp/B00YTCZZF0/ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WXLRF2U/ TIA
Techman Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 If you have an existing Zwave network Aeotec Zwave devices have worked well for me and their firmware is field upgradable. They have excellent technical support. You need to make sure that their switch is compatible with the ISY firmware version you're running. I'd check with UDI before purchasing.
SamOpp Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 I am having the same problem. what did you use as an alternate solution? Thanks

Thanks Do you have a Z-Wave enabled ISY904i? The modules in the older post are Z-Wave devices. You could use a ELK9200 heavy duty 220 Volts contactor in its enclosure. https://www.elkproducts.com/product-catalog/elk-9200-heavy-duty-relay-contactor Controlled by a 120Volt Insteon plug in module or a switch. Or a contactor controlled by an Insteon Module.
midrar Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 You can buy a 2 pole Contactor rated for the load with 120V control voltage. Use a standard Insteon on/off switch to control the turning on/off of the Contactor.
judetf Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 Midrar, do you have an example of what you're talking about - a 2-pole contactor rated for a 240v/30-amp circuit, with a 120v control? Thanks!

They are easy to find type "2 pole 30 amp contactor 120 volt coil" into amazon search (be wary of amazon search, it tends to mix in others that don't exactly match, double check your choice for all values including coil voltage). Be aware that some are noisy, some are quieter than others. I prefer to stick with name brands like siemens, Eaton, Square D, etc. You'll also need a proper enclosure, if it's metal be certain to follow proper grounding protocols.
FRaab Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Amazon is currently carrying an Insteon 240V controller. Normally open or normally closed. https://www.amazon.com/Insteon-2477SA2-Controller-Grey/dp/B003O667YU
