all, my ISY/insteon setup has been running perfectly for 5+ years.

today, I have an issue and I just can't put my finger on the problem.

 

setup: one insteon 2450 for the garage door and 2 keypad with a "garage door" button. they have been working great for years. allows to control the garage door and get the status of it

today. one of the 2 keypad button cannot control the garage door, but it can gets the status of it and when I press the button, the second keypad button lights up.

the other button works just great.

so communication seems fine... or not?

I power cycled everything, deleted and re-created the scene. same thing... upgrade the ISY to 4.7.3 (yes I had hopes for magic)

only thing I can think of, the insteon 2450 life is about to expire after 5+ years in a cold/hot and humid garage.

ok, found it... it's always when you search for over an hour and finaly decide to reach out that you find the answer...

bought a used laptop, connected in the garage. unplug it and.. voila!

 

anyone can point which (if any) of the lines of logs points to the communication issue?

The power supply for the laptop was creating noise on the powerline which interfered with the Insteon signal.

The problem is that the log shows communication between the ISY/PLM and devices not communication between devices.  You had a communication problem between a keypad and the 2450 which isn't captured by the log.

Still, every line in the log that refers to device 32.9F.7A shows a "Hops Left" that is less than "Max Hops".  This could be an indication of a communication problem.
