crichardson Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Hi guys i have a new 994izw pro and an insteon 2413s plm but i am not sure how to set it up and if it is possible to import existing configuration from my insteon setup that is currently managed by a insteon hub? the docs are rather confusing Thanks -Chris
apostolakisl Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 You are best off factory resetting all switches/devices and starting from scratch. ISY makes it pretty easy to register each device. Just open the admin console on your laptop, walk around to each device and push the button on it. It adds the device. Give it a name, go to the next device and so on until all devices are in ISY. Then, with isy set to delayed write, create all your scenes, drag and drop devices into scenes and set levels and ramp rates as you wish. Then click to write. Go have a beer. Then it will be done. Then you will have a very clean install with no orphaned/mystery links.
crichardson Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 oh i was hopping to avoid that since i got like 40+ devices but i guess i know what ill be doing next week.. Thanks -Chris

Thanks -Chris 40 devices won't take very long to install. Go from device to device with laptop in hand ISY open with linking window open, factory reset, push the linking button, name them as they pop on on ISY linking window. Then once you get all of them listed, click on ISY to finish adding them, ISY will write all the links to the PLM and devices. This might take an hour, so walk away and have a beer. Now create your scenes. With ISY set to delayed write, drag and drop devices to scenes, setting the on levels and ramp rates. Then click to write. Walk away again, have another beer. Setting the on levels and ramp rates can be confusing because there is the local ramp rate/on rate and the scene on level/ramp rate.
kevindavis544 Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 This is good stuff. I didn't know there was a "delayed write" option. Where is this found in the AC?
