hum099 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 I'm in the process of switching from DSClink to Nodelink and I'm not sure how to proceed. I read that the EVL can only have one connection which I assume means that i must remove the connection of DSClink. (i have no idea how to do this) Is anyone able to guide me through the process of switching.
io_guy Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 If you don't need DSCLink anymore just delete it and start running NodeLink. If you need them both then enable the DSC Repeater option in DSCLink and point NodeLink to the Pi address instead of EVL.
hum099 Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 Thanks, I'm not sure how to delete it. I'm not very tech savy.
hum099 Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 io_guy would you be able to help me delete dsclink, I have no idea how to.
io_guy Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 SSH into you Pi and use the "rm" command. To install NodeLink use the script that's posted in the forum sticky.
hum099 Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 I decided to purchase a new Raspberry Pi. If I just shut down the old one, is that all I would need to do. I was only using it for DSClink. Then if I had any issues I could just unplug the new one and plug back in the old one. Also If Nodelink works out, do I just leave the old variables created in the isy for DSClink or remove them. Will they interfere with anything. io_guy thanks for all the help.
io_guy Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Yes shutting down the Pi is all you'd need to do. I would remove the old variables since they won't be used anymore. But they don't hurt anything.
hum099 Posted May 31, 2019 Author Posted May 31, 2019 I have gone through all the steps to setup nodelink with DSC panel and Rainmachine. Neither are working. For the dsc I get this error on the nodelink main page. 2019-05-31 14:35:16 - DSC TCP: No poll response, attempting to reconnect to alarm [dsc1] 2019-05-31 14:35:16 - DSC: Reconnecting To Server [dsc1] 2019-05-31 14:35:16 - DSC Error: Data Arrival - StartIndex cannot be less than zero. On the Rainmachine when I try to turn on one of the zones from the isy I get Request failed.
io_guy Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Sound like you have the DSC address configured wrong. And for the Rain Machine you likely have the wrong address in the Node Config in the ISY.
hum099 Posted June 1, 2019 Author Posted June 1, 2019 In the DSC setup it asks for the address which I assume was the Envisalink am I correct. If so that is the one I used. The rainmachine brought all the zones names into the isy would that mean the node was correct. Actually the DSC panel brought the zones in but no info on them. Sorry for all the questions.
hum099 Posted June 1, 2019 Author Posted June 1, 2019 I was able to get the rainmachine working by deleting the device in nodelink and re-adding. Still cannot get the DSC panel to work. The only info it shows s heartbeat -1
io_guy Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 Your DSC error hints at the EVL port already being connected to another device or refusing the connection. You sure you have DSCLink turned off, and all the NodeLink DSC parameters correct (such as device type)? Enable debug on the DSC tab and on the main System Config log window in NodeLink.
hum099 Posted June 2, 2019 Author Posted June 2, 2019 DSClink is turned off. It was on a different Pi and I unplug it. I turned on logging. Not sure where it goes.
io_guy Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 The debug on the DSC screen sets that devices output level. The debug on System Config allows all data to be seen in the log window. With those set you should see extra DSC info/data now.
hum099 Posted June 3, 2019 Author Posted June 3, 2019 I still cannot get the DSC Alarm to work. In the settings i have the correct IP address of the EnvisaLink and I assume the 2DS Password is the one for the EnvisaLink and the Disarm password is the numerical code to arm and disarm the alarm. I'm able to access the EnvisaLink through a web browser with the username and password that I entered. SO I'm pretty sure that it is configured correctly. Below shows the same errors. I don't really see anything different with the debug enabled. 2019-06-03 22:36:58 - DSC TCP: No poll response, attempting to reconnect to alarm [dsc1] 2019-06-03 22:36:58 - DSC: Reconnecting To Server [dsc1] 2019-06-03 22:36:58 - DSC Error: Data Arrival - StartIndex cannot be less than zero. io_guy Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 DSCLink and NodeLink share the same code so something doesn't make sense in your setup. Can you paste your full log from a fresh NodeLink startup?
hum099 Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 Here is the log right after startup. When I ran the original script, I thought i seen an error but it went to fast and I dint catch it. Not sure if that would be a problem. 9-06-04 22:12:00 - ISY NodeLink Server v0.9.31 started 2019-06-04 22:12:00 - OS: Linux raspberrypi 4.19.42-v7+ #1219 SMP Tue May 14 21:20:58 BST 2019 armv7l GNU/Linux 2019-06-04 22:12:00 - Mono version: 4.6.2 (Debian 4.6.2.7+dfsg-1) 2019-06-04 22:12:00 - Mono version: Recommend moving to >= 4.6 (see latest how-to) 2019-06-04 22:12:01 - Web config server started (http://192.168.1.250:8090) 2019-06-04 22:12:01 - ISY resolved to 192.168.1.253 (5.0.13D) 2019-06-04 22:12:01 - ISY Node Server config detected (profile 2) 2019-06-04 22:12:02 - ISY Warning: Duplicate node names exist on the ISY (Outside Light) 2019-06-04 22:12:03 - DSC Error: Data Arrival - StartIndex cannot be less than zero. io_guy Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Why didn't you use the Pi install script? I notice your mono version is pretty old.
hum099 Posted June 5, 2019 Author Posted June 5, 2019 I thought I did use that script. Is there 2 different scripts.
io_guy Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 If you used the script your mono version would be updated, unless it's broke now or you're on a very old very of Raspbian.
hum099 Posted June 5, 2019 Author Posted June 5, 2019 I really thought thats what I did. I guess not. Can I just rerun the script or how do I back track what I have done.
hum099 Posted June 5, 2019 Author Posted June 5, 2019 I decided to wipe the Raspberry Pi. Installed Raspbian Stretch light. Installed the script, started debuging. I get the error below. It says the password is incorrect. When I use a browser and go to the IP of the envisalink it asks for username which i use user and password. I enter the same password that I put into nodelink and I get in. I can arm the panel from this web page. How can this be. 2019-06-05 16:13:03 - DSC TCP: Polling DSC [dsc1] 2019-06-05 16:14:03 - DSC TCP: No poll response, attempting to reconnect to alarm [dsc1] 2019-06-05 16:14:03 - DSC: Reconnecting To Server [dsc1] 2019-06-05 16:14:03 - DSC: Connected to 192.168.1.252 [dsc1] 2019-06-05 16:14:03 - DSC: 5053CD[C][L] [dsc1] 2019-06-05 16:14:03 - DSC: 505 - Login Interaction (Password Requested) [dsc1] 2019-06-05 16:14:03 - DSC: EVL User Login - Password Sent [dsc1] 2019-06-05 16:14:03 - DSC: 5000052A[C][L]5050CA[C][L] [dsc1] 2019-06-05 16:14:03 - DSC: 500 - Command Acknowledge (005) [dsc1] 2019-06-05 16:14:03 - DSC: 505 - Login Interaction (Password Incorrect) [dsc1] 2019-06-05 16:14:03 - DSC Error: Data Arrival - StartIndex cannot be less than zero. io_guy Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 I suspect you have a password length issue with the TPI or you didn't actually set it (hit the set button after changing it). Can you PM me your config.ini file?
hum099 Posted June 5, 2019 Author Posted June 5, 2019 Where do I find the config.ini My password is 9 characters (always has been) I have the envisalink 3. Should I change it to 6
