saphotoexpress Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 I used to use Mobilinc Connect and it seemed pretty quick. I switched to the ISY Portal services because I was told that using it with Alexa is much better than Mobilinc Connect. On Mobilinc HD for IOS using the ISY Portal, I've noticed that sometimes it can take up to 15 seconds to connect. Once I'm connected, the response times seem fine. It seems like the issue is mainly with the initial connection. Is this normal or is there something I can do to speed this up?
InsteonNut Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Hi @saphotoexpress I’m not sure where that information about our Alexa integration comes from. We’ve fully integrated with Alexa Smart Home for years and support lights, scenes, programs, security and fans integration along with sensors, variables, and routine integration. With the newest MobiLinc X app, you can easily set/update which items you want included with Alexa. Integration and changes all happen in real-time between our servers and Amazon/Alexa. As for your long startup time with ISY Portal I’ve heard this from other users that opted to use ISY Portal instead of a direct IP or MobiLinc Connect. As you know, ISY Portal isn’t our product and all questions regarding ISY Portal and how it performs should be direct to UDI. If you use a real direct IP directly to your ISY, you can confirm that direct IP connections are fast like you saw with MobiLinc Connect. If you have any questions about our MobiLinc Connect platform, our new MobiLinc X app, or Alexa, please email us at support@mobilinc.com so we can help. Wes

Wes I searched through previous emails and could not find the comment about ISY Portal vs Mobilinc Connect. It would have been from a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly, it had something to do with voice control for insteon thermostats. I think they said that if I wanted it to work more like Nest, then ISY Portal was the way to go. Could you post a link that shows how to set voice commands using Mobilinc Connect?
InsteonNut Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Hi @saphotoexpress, Please see our website: https://mobilinc.com/features/echo/ user "Setup Guide" In short, if you have MobiLinc Pro/HD/OML you would set the "Spoken" name under the notes in the Admin Console. If you have MobiLinc X, you use the app to set spoken names and manage your spoken names here. Wes
saphotoexpress Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 After a little more testing I noticed that making the above changes to the custom names works fine for my phone but unfortunately does not carry over to apple watch. On the watch, you still need to manually turn the relay off and then back on. Unless someone has another suggestion, i will probably just write the program to automatically set it back to off after 2 or 3 seconds of being turned on.
InsteonNut Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Hi @saphotoexpress Just add the IOLinc Sensor to the Apple Watch. Same logic applies. Tapping the sensor icon on the watch triggers the relay. Wes
saphotoexpress Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 The sensor has always worked fine. The Relay is the problem. On iPhone, with custom names removed for "off", I get the one touch effect I wanted. On Apple watch, paired with the same iphone, I have to turn the relay off and then turn the relay back on to open the gate. I'm not sure if this matters, but on Apple watch, you only have icons, status names like "on" or off" don't actually appear on the watch. Not sure if that is why it does not work.
