macjeff Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 I am using MONO 6.4 on a mac and 0.9.36 was working fine. I updated to 0.10.1 with no issues. I then updated to 0.10.2 and stupidly replaced 0.10.1 and then my clone backup ran so I dont have a backup of 0.10.1. The first thing I noticed is nodelink was not just an EXE file but also 2 other files unlike 0.10.1 or earlier I tried everything and when I run the 0.10.2 in Mono I get this error (File does not contain a valid CIL image) Since I dont have the 0.10.1, I went back to 0.9.36 which I had backed up. Its working fine. I did look at Mono readme. The supported .net framework is different in 6.4 and the upcoming (not released even in beta yet) 6.6 version. Being a mac guy I am not sure if this means anything Thanks in advance for your help!!! Here are the Release notes 6.4- C# compiler support for C# 8 language version .NET Standard 2.1 support Updated libgdiplus to 6.0.2 Notarized macOS installer package 6.6- Not available yet Added .NET 4.8 reference assemblies
io_guy Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Starting with 0.10 NodeLink moved to .NET Core 3 runtime. You want to install it and ditch mono. https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-core/3.0
macjeff Posted November 1, 2019 Author Posted November 1, 2019 Thanks. I see that now but I tried it and it requires Mac OS X 10.12 and I have this running on an older mac that wont support 10.12. Well it might but some of the other servers we are running on it wont. So I guess I am stuck unless I move this to a new machine. I have another mac running 10.12 I could set it up on BUT I am getting Polisy from UDI For now I assume I am ok running on 0.9.36 correct? I only run Ecobee, Weatherflow and total connect (honeywell) on NodeLink which I think will run on Polisy once I get it. Will NodeLink run on Polisy or is that redundant. Just thinking it might be an easy way to save my config info in ISY. Jeff
io_guy Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 I have NodeLink running on polisy. You could also put docker on your old Mac if you wanted to run 0.10.X
macjeff Posted November 1, 2019 Author Posted November 1, 2019 I have a mac I can run it on but my questions are 1. Is there any reason for me not to wait for Polisy since everything is fine in nodelink now? 2. Is there any documentation in getting NodeLink on Polisy? Is it in the "store" they have in it or do I have to manually do it all? 3. If the nodes I need (Weatherflow, Total Connect, Ecobee) are all on Polisy anyways is there a reason to run Nodelink on it? 4. If I move to a new mac for now is all the data stored in the ISY? I would rather not have to setup all my devices again in nodelink. If there are instructions could you post? thanks as usual!!!
io_guy Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 1. No 2. Not yet, we're working on it. 3. No 4. Just save your config.xml file
glarsen Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 Not to nag...but any idea when we'll be able to run NodeLink on our Polisys - and then retire/repurpose the RPi? Thanks!
io_guy Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 UDI are working on a Net Core install package. I don't know the ETA. I have it working on mine but I do some "admin" things that UDI would likely want to sandbox.
