Button not following scene sometimes

I'm new at this ISY game so please excuse me if i'm missing something simple.

Have basically set up what amounts to a "bedtime" scene... turn on some nightlights, turn out the main lights, lock the doors, close the garage door, etc.  The scene works perfectly if I trigger it from ISY, works great if I trigger from Google Home, so that part is great.   For what it's worth the nature of the beast I will only ever turn this scene on, it won't ever be turned off explicitly since getting up in the morning is the wake-up scene's job.

In any case, last night internet was down so that takes mister Google out of the equation... I decided I needed to add a button to trigger the scene :-)    Added a keypadlinc button as a controller to the scene, set the button to non-toggle on.  Push the button, scene activates... so all is still good.

What I have noticed though is that if I activate the scene with the button, the button status changes to on and if I then de-activate the scene with ISY or Google the button status changes to off.  However if I activate the scene with ISY or Google the button status does NOT turn on even though the scene does.

In this particular case I don't really care as the button isn't lit so I'm not looking to it for a status or such so whether ISY thinks its on or off is immaterial.  However, obviously there will be scenes where I am using on/off and the indication on the button so I'd like to figure out how to make it work properly now, before I need to know :-)

The part I'm not catching is why it's just the on state of the button that doesn't follow while the off state does.

Thanks!

You might want to set the KPL button to toggle on/off to see if that makes a difference.
