Guest jbredz28 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Will iLinc always be compatible with beta/official firmware upgrades for the ISY? Should we wait for confirmation in this compatibility before upgrading the ISY for each firmware upgrade? I plan on upgrading the ISY to the newest beta tonight but would hate to cause an issue with iLinc.
InsteonNut Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Hi jbredz28, I'm only running the offical firmware release on my ISY setup (2.7.0). As iLinc product support, I plan on supporting the official firmware releases as they are released from Universal Devices. The best place is to check here or http://www.mobileintegratedsolutions.com for confirmation on the latest official release and iLinc. I can say that I have connected iLinc to another ISY running beta 2.7.6 and didn't notice any problems, however, I didn't perform a full test on beta 2.7.6. Maybe someone else on the UDI forms can share their experience with iLinc and beta 2.7.6. I haven't heard of any problems so far. Wes
bpwwer Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I bought and installed iLinc a couple of days ago and the few things I tried worked fine with 2.7.6. I haven't had much time to play around with it though.

I'm running iLinc with 2.7.6, with all my devices and scenes in folders on the ISY. iLinc does not support folders, but still displays devices and scenes in a flat list as before (exactly as if folders were not used on the ISY). It all works fine for me. --Mark

elvisimprsntr Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Been running iLinc Pro 2.10 with 2.7.6b and 2.7.7a without incident. I've got the new TStat Insteon 2.0 adapter on order. Elvis
elvisimprsntr Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Heads up. ISY 2.7.8a with the 2.0 tstat adapter results in 4 seperate device entries. Thus the 4 entries all show up as seperate tstats even though only one is actually the tstat. The other entries are heat/cool/fan status flags which apparently used as scene controllers, for what purpose I don't know. It looks like an update to iLinc will be required to mask the controller devices and flag them as sensors similar to the motion sensor. Elvis
InsteonNut Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Hi elvisimprsntr, I just upgraded my ISY tonight with 2.7.8 and the 2.0 thermostat adapter, but I'm not seeing the 4 seperate device entries like you are reporting. Here's what I did and maybe you could post back the steps to reproduce what you are seeing: 1. Upgraded my ISY to 2.7.8a 2. Launched iLinc on iPhone 3. Tapped "Tap to Sync with ISY" under My Settings and selected "Restore All Devices" to force iLinc to re-download all the devices from the ISY into the local iLinc database. 4. Tapped My Thermostats and verified that only my one Thermostat appears. Wes

Elvis
tahoe Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I removed the adapters and relinked them. I didn't get 4 devices. Did you turn your Venstar OFF as instructed when you relinked it? Ilink works fine with my two tstats

dougos2 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I also just upgraded to 2.7.8 and installed the v2.0 thermostats and Yes you do get all 4 items showing for each thermostat. I hope that we will be able to hide those extra items.

I hope that we will be able to hide those extra items. In the ISY admin page you can group all the nodes in the device, and in iLinc you can swipe across and 'delete' (not really delete, just hide) devices you don't want displayed individually.
InsteonNut Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Thanks elvisimprsntr, I now see the 4 devices when removing and adding in the 2.0 thermostat. I'll start working on a fix to hide these or address them as UDI indended for these new virtual devices to be addressed. Wes
InsteonNut Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Hi all, I've released version 2.11 to Apple for approval this weekend. In this update I detect these virtual thermostat devices and auto-hide them. I'm considering various alternatives to how to use this data on the thermostat page in a future update. Wes
