asbril Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 I just ordered a Samsung Family Hub refrigerator which will be delivered in a week. Supposedly it is compatible with Smartthings, allowing to control devices. As Smartthings is based on Zwave I wonder if anyone knows whether I will be able to link the fridge to my ISY.

SmartThings is NOT based on Z-Wave. The v1/v2/v3 hubs have Z-Wave, ZigBee radios and the newer V3 has Wifi MOST SmartThings branded devices are ZigBee NOT Z-Wave The REST of the SmartThings branded devices are Wifi (new ST plug for example) The Family Hub is Wifi and connects to the ST cloud interface. A Nodeserver could be used for integration with the ST Cloud.

asbril Posted December 14, 2019 Author Posted December 14, 2019 I was looking at this other topic and I wonder if getting a Smartthing hub and adding it to my ISY (how would I do that ?) would give me any interesting gimmicks between my Family Hub fridge and my ISY.
