One again, I’m in a quandary.  I was fairly certain I knew what was going on with ISY994I, but I’m no longer sure at all.  I have several computers around my house.  My main system, while little used, is supposed to be the backup for everything else.  Not data so much, as programs and applications.  It has 11TB of storage, and most of that is accessible from the other computers.  Sometimes, apparently, software on one machine either doesn’t get cloned to the main system or the main system version just doesn’t get updated.

When I first installed ISY it was from the main system.  Thereafter, ISY was/is maintained from my primary laptop.  Since that laptop has been acting flakey lately, I thought I should may certain of the “backup” on the main box.  Today I started ISY and was surprised to see that a good deal of my programs (most) were missing.  It looked like all the devices were present but I wouldn’t swear to it.  I did note that I was using a UI that didn’t match the firmware but would that cause a disconnect vis-à-vis the programs?

I thought that all data, programs included, were stored on ISY itself.  I thought that ISY backups contained everything I needed to get restarted in event of a catastrophic failure.  I’ll know more, hopefully, when I get a new UI, but it’s been so long since I needed one of those that I don’t recall where to find, download, or install it.

Other than the proper UI, and perhaps a serious amount of brain cells, what am I missing?

Thanks.

The UI must match the firmware otherwise you may get just what you are getting.

Use the ISY Launcher. It matches them automatically.
