ToddR Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Hi I have a thermostat that I am having some issues with, it is like it looses communication with the ISY hub. I see this message in the log file multiple times in a day. INSTEON Device Control Value Time User Log Type Shop Thermostat- Main Error 0 Mon 2020/01/13 08:44:22 AM System Log Shop Thermostat- Main Mon 2020/01/13 08:44:22 AM System -2 Shop Thermostat- Main Error 0 Mon 2020/01/13 08:45:59 AM System Log Is this a communication issue or something else ? The thermostat is in a detached garage with lots of other Insteon plugin modules and an IO module which don't have any issues with. Thanks Todd

It doesn't matter if they are activated. Try unplugging it for the night and see if the problem changes.
ToddR Posted January 23, 2020 Author Posted January 23, 2020 Ok will do and check log in the morning and report findings !
ToddR Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 Garage opener unplugged all night and errors still happening. Any ideas ?
ToddR Posted January 28, 2020 Author Posted January 28, 2020 Gents, do you have any suggestions for what might be causing my errors ? Unplugging garage door openers did not do anything. I also unplugged cordless phone, that did nothing either.
Brian H Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 The 2441TH is an RF only module. Are the other Insteon modules in the garage Dual Band so it has a module to send and receive messages to it? The I/OLinc is strictly power line so it would not process the 2441TH.
ToddR Posted January 28, 2020 Author Posted January 28, 2020 Yes multiple plugin modules, all are dual band. Closest one is only a couple feet away from thermostat.
Teken Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 If you want to hard reset the unit to see if there is any improvement follow the steps outlined in page 25: https://cache-m2.smarthome.com/manuals/2732-xx2-en.pdf This in no way addresses any possible communication issues related to noise makers / signal suckers. One key thing is to confirm both sides of the single phase power supply is properly bridged. Almost all of the dual band hardware included in the (full manual) will outline how to determine proper phase bridging.
