Regardless, can the same data from these sensors be directed to a local system to capture environmental data?

The nodeserver uses their URL method which pushes the updates from the hub to Polyglot, so yes a local system can capture all the data.

@Jimbo

To be clear using your most awesome Polyglot Node Server a person could send the same data in parallel to say Google Sheets? If so how is this done and where is it done in the ISY, Polyglot / Polyisy??

Can not happen in parallel, there is one host to push the data to, so you would have to pull or push the data from the ISY or add code to the node server to handle it.

I use several of the tags. Two notify me of garage door movements. One notifies me of mailbox openings and closings. The mailbox device is unprotected from the weather and has been in service for 3 years.  It is not recommended for that application, but I consider it an expendable. So far no problems. One monitors temperature and humidity in the crawl space. Three monitor door movements. Three more are at a distant location and monitor temperatures and door movements. I love these devices! I always get the pro models and those that can detect movement. That way, I can change their application and use. I am looking forward to the day when I can easily import their data into my ISYs and use that data in various programs. I know it can be done, but I emphasize my choice of "easily". I also agree with the fragility of the cases. I "grit my teeth" every time I change a battery but so far all is well in that regard.

I buy Energizer lithium ion batteries off Ebay and, thus far, they always last more than 6 months. The batteries are inexpensive.

@smokegrub

I’m confused, how do you know when the mail man has arrived if the two systems aren’t connected?

The Tags have many ways of spewing information. ITTT, kumoapps, URL page, maybe email, push notifications via app on Android and Windows etc..etc. it takes a while to get all the phone talking under control during meetings.

@larryllix How true!

The tags have many ways of communicating. A few weeks ago, I had a tag manager go bad. Strange symptoms. Tags were triggering Polisy properly but I could not add new tags nor configure those that were running from the web UI.

I contacted Wireless Tag support group. They looked at their server logs and told me that the tag manager was disconnecting from the net  ~10 seconds after each startup. High kudos to them for the quick diagnosis and for sending me a replacement tag manager....UD and Wireless Tag - Two companies with "stellar support teams!!" :-D:-D I installed the new tag manager which fixed the problem but I was lazy and left the configuration at default.

Fast forward to an important meeting I was attending when all of a sudden, my phone loudly announces,  "Shower Curtain has Moved!"
 completely disrupting the meeting focus.  These devices are powerful...Be careful out there ☺️

You missed your opportunity to announce your automated porn parlour. :)

No, merely a fail-safe to ensure a showering-person doesn't experience a timed-lights-out.

So where is this Tag located?

Is it a backup to another occupancy detector method?

The tag is hanging on the middle hook of the shower curtain. This was the backup to a previously-unreliable motion sensor (now fixed). If the MS didn't see you, tapping the shower curtain would bring the lights back on.

Awesome! I like it!

I assume you keep it on the outside of the curtain or between the layers for better water isolation.

The tags may be set to send notifications in a variety of ways. I consider them essential tools. No more guessing if my mail has arrived! I get a notification by the time the delivery vehicle has moved to my neighbor's box.

Just remember the door open closed motion is not on either of the new USB sensors, and only one has motion detection and lux in case you wanted those features.

I was looking for a USB powered sensor, but according to the product data, neither of the two USB included motion detection.
