MarcV Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 My new ISY controller came with OS 5. I need it to control Z-wave, an option the existing controller cannot handle. After performing a "factory reset" and adding a few devices, I created a single one-line program to see if I could avoid the OUT OF MEMORY errors on all programs loaded by recovering the current OS4 backup. No luck. Even that single program fails to run and has OUT OF MEMORY emblazened in yellow. What am I doing wrong here?

Show me a sample of what you have installed in your system along with examples of programs. Go to any program and right mouse click and select copy to clip board and post the same here. You can show what you have installed by using the Windows Snipping tool and load that image capture.

Summary tab shows this program OUT OF MEMORY. It is the only program. The scene Office Overhead Lights turns on/off from the scene description page tabs. Incidentally, when first selecting the Program tab, a diagnostic appears saying: NOT IMPLEMENTED. Subsequent access to Program does not exhibit that notice. TESTING - [ID 0002][Parent 0001] If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Set Scene 'Office Overhead Lights' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
Brian H Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Is the old one a PRO model and the new one is not a PRO model and you maybe hitting the limitations of a non PRO model?
MarcV Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 The new one is a PRO model. ISY994i ZW+ s/n 39.0021b902542d

MarcV Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 Used RUN THEN, but of course nothing happens. The SUMMARY program tab says NOT LOADED and OUT OF MEMORY so I didn't really expect it to happen. Recall that this is after reseting the ISY. Originally I simply recovered an old backup, corrected some NULL commands to ON and waIted for normal timed programs to activate. None ever did. That's when I began to look around and found the OUT OF MEMORY labels. Never saw those before. I spent quite a bit of time searching here on the forums and resetting, reloading, etc., before admitting I'm at a loss to (a) understand what NOT IMPLEMENTED, NOT LOADED, and OUT OF MEMORY really mean and (b) what to do to make this thing work. Nothing I found on the Wiki or here seemed to apply. It's hard to believe that I'm the first to have this problem. But who knows? Maybe others just give up in frustration and call the Lutron dealer.
mwester Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Stepping back to the beginning... can you check what version of firmware you are running, and what version of UI -- they must match. One of the many symptoms when the two do not match can be out-of-memory messages in the console.
MarcV Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 Yes. UI is 4, Firmware is 5. You may have found my problem. From where would I get any other UI? And how will I keep them separate once loaded on the MacBook?

Keeping in mind you need to clear the Java cache if you updated the controller. Next, an out of memory is normally related to something in the program that is no longer present. In this case I called out you have nothing in the (IF) statement. So put something in there and hit save. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MarcV Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 Bless you both, including apostolakisl. I should have come to you first to save lots of time! I quit using the launcher because it added an extra keypress and seemed to make no difference. Little did I realize that it's tailored for Version 5. Thank you, thank you.
