UDI confirmed center pin on Polisy is 2.5 and ISY is 2.1 mm. Some cables will work on both, but the cables supplied with the UPS would not work on Polisy. I'll update when cable arrives. I don't anticipate any problem since the UPS port is rated for 2A. Next project is to keep internet up, which means modem, router in one location and an ethernet switch in the office where the ISY and Polisy are. Thinking ahead when the Polisy does everything, it should be able to fall back on WiFi which would be a little easier to implement.

Did yours arrive and did it work?  If so, please send me a link to what you ordered.

@Jimbo Cable came in today and works fine. I powered ISY and Polisy with the ups unplugged for 15 minutes and the UPS battery indicator didn't move off full.

Should I be using the 9V output for my ISY or one of the 12V outputs?

Either voltage is fine given the wide range.

@TexMike Did you all notice they state:. Our warranty is one year(12.6v charger). Life can be 2 -3 years if you use 12.0v special charger

I guess I'm not surprised, but not sure how you know when it needs to be replaced?

I had not seen that, but found it in the Q&A after you pointed it out. Not sure what the 12.0V special charger is, the supplied charger is listed at 12.6V. I would expect the batteries to lose some life as they age, but with minimal discharge/charge cycles, I would hope for longer life.

2-3 years is not very long, especially without a replaceable battery. Also, I am noticing it is essentially an "online" UPS, where the ISY (or whatever) is 100% fed by the battery, and the battery is periodically recharged by the supplied charger. I don't what the low and high thresholds are for charging, but they are close enough that it switched on and off at least once (red light/green light) while I was installing a second outlet and mounting it in my utility closet. If it is going to go through charging cycles like this several times a day, especially if it's charging to 95% or 100%, then I can see why the life would be limited. Li+ batteries need limited charging cycles and should be kept between 20% and 80% charged for longest life.

Just to be clear you saw the unit begin charging how many times since its initial deployment?

My expectation is the unit would come partially drained due to storage. Once installed the unit would obviously begin the recharge process. I don’t expect the unit to disconnect from line power unless it’s simply doing a load test like many other UPS do to insure proper function and operation.

On a related tangent is the case sealed or does it have screws to open the case?

So it was installed a few days ago and I just got around to mounting it (and putting in the second outlet) yesterday. Assuming it was fully charged when I started, it went through one very short (maybe a minute or two) charging cycle when I unplugged it from the old outlet and plugged it into the new. Then, while I was running the network cable and mounting the ISY and UPS (approx. 25 minutes), it went through at least one more charging cycle (green -> red -> green). My comment was based more on how short the charging cycles were and how closed together they were, rather than how many times it charged.

It has 4 screws on the bottom in the corners, but mine looks to have at least one spot where the bottom appears to be welded to the rest of the enclosure. That may just be physical damage, however. I didn't try to take the bottom off.

Got it!

For those who have this unit I would be curious to learn if this unit has a defined battery check. If so, what interval is it and what kind of load is placed on said UPS. Typical enterprise units place a 30% load for 30-60 seconds while it disconnects from the main line.

Doing so replicates a true outage while under load. While also checking the hardwares ability to recharge without fault.

It doesn't have a noticeable button to initiate such a check, like my rackmount UPS in my wiring/network closet does. Just glancing at the user manual and the unit itself, I'm guessing is not very sophisticated from a firmware perspective.

Do you or anyone have any sort of energy monitoring available? Very curious to see what this box consumes while idle, running, and when under load test.
