dronning Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Intermittent light control from ELK & eKeypad Pro – also eKeypad was taking too long to log in. EZ fix once I determined what happened. I upgraded my network switch and in the process I had plugged the ISY into my router and the ELK into the Netgear Smart Switch. I found in one of the posts that you should try and keep them together. I plugged them both into the switch and presto everything works. Dave
jaysonc Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Dave, I am glad to hear you found the issue. Routing issues are by far the most complex aspect of an Elk - eKeypad setup. On the plus side, eK ISY (and ISY support in eK Pro) is coming very soon and you already have your network ready to go! -- Jayson eKeypad Pro Web: http://web.mac.com/japps YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/eKeypad/
dronning Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 On the plus side, eK ISY (and ISY support in eK Pro) is coming very soon and you already have your network ready to go! -- Jayson eKeypad Pro Web: http://web.mac.com/japps YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/eKeypad/ Jayson - a couple of questions I see eK Pro version 1.8.2 is in Apple review is the the version with ISY support? Is there a difference in functionality of ek ISY and ISY support in ek Pro and how is this different with light control via ek Pro now? Other than going through the ELK. OK one last question will ISY support include being able to fire IR triggers? Great product I'm looking forward to IP camera support as well. Dave
jaysonc Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Dave, No. version 1.8.2 of eK Pro added several new features but not ISY support yet. It did add: - A wider range of IP Cameras and DVRs (including all Dedicated Micros DVRs ) - Added a "replay" capability to all IP Cameras (works just like your TIVO) - Added searching capabilities throughout the application - Plus numerous internal performance improvements eK ISY is very near release now. I am performing the final tweaks now. eK ISY will support a single ISY-99 or ISY-99 Pro with full support for all device types. eK Pro will support multiple ISY devices along with Multiple Elk M1 panels. You are correct that currently you can gain access to Insteon lighting on the ISY via integration with the Elk. With dedicated ISY support in eK Pro you will gain full control of all devices on the ISY along with the weather and energy modules in the near future. Also, with eK Pro, you will gain what I am calling consolidated mode. With this, you will be able to configure an Elk and an ISY in eK Pro then tell eKeypad that you want to control thermostats and lighting through the ISY, output relays through both and everything else through the Elk. You will still be presented with the same GUI you see today, but eKeypad will redirect the commands and consolidate the lists as necessary. I am not quite sure what you mean by your IR Trigger question. if you are referring to support for IR transmitters like the Smarthome IRLinc transmitter, then yes. I have an IRLinc for testing and as soon as support is available in the ISY eKeypad will gain this capability. If you are referring to programs that are triggered by incoming IR commands, then yes as well. eKeypad will display all of the programs defined on your ISY and allow you to activate them. -- Jayson eKeypad: A family of native iPhone applications for controlling all aspects of Elk and Ness M1 panels, IP Cameras, and DVRs.
