toddhutch Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 If you had 3 2421 triggerlincs they were in the same room, and they all opened at the same time. How is the Insteon communication handled, does it handle collisions?

How is the Insteon communication handled, does it handle collisions? The Insteon protocol has collision avoidance built into its specification. Assuming the sensors tripped all at once (IF) received by the Insteon network and controller they would be processed FIFO. The odds of three sensors being activated in the same moment is slim to none unless done on purpose.
ELA Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 I thought it handled collisions by interpreting the colliding data as an All On condition ?

toddhutch Posted July 1, 2020 Author Posted July 1, 2020 Well I replaced all of the batteries on them, and they haven't had an issue since. I also replaced a 2477s that was starting to not respond to scene requests. So it was one or other. All that matters now is that it's working. Note: These were switches on garage doors, and I do have a open all garages and close all garages program that does have them all happen pretty close to the same time. ?
