wrique Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I replaced a 2477D with a 2477S and now my ISY994i is having trouble communicating with the new device. I had to order a 2477S because all of the 2477D's were out of stock this weekend. I couldn't use the Replace ... menu item since it was a different device. After wiring the new 2477S switch in, the Auto Discover recognized it just fine and it can sometimes control it. I am running v4.8.0 in the ISY-994i and the 2477S is v.45. I have a large number of Insteon devices in my house and the previous 2477D has been working flawlessly for a few years (it is my driveway lights that turn on/off every day). Any ideas?

I have never used the Replace function successfully. I would only use it once per year and always got it backwards or something. I rename the old device to "My device name XX" and the new device name to "My device name". Now I use the simple find and replace function by right clicking on any program name in the program tree and replace "My device name XX" with "My device name" in all programs. When done I delete the "My device name xx" device from the system. Scenes must be handled manually but I use very few scenes.
