Fingerprint reader to unlock door?

I have an “Andersen door” that does not work with most biometric and keypad deadbolts.   I think I can make it work with an “August Smart Lock”.  August makes a keypad for access but there is no fingerprint reader.  
 

I was thinking of doing one of the following:

1. Install a commercial grade fingerprint scanner and somehow figure out a way, perhaps with the help of Polisy, to use it to turn on something that somehow unlocks the lock. 
 

2. Same idea but with a fingerprint garage door reader.  I haven’t found one of these that seems any good though. 
 

any thoughts or ideas?
