to_lighter Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Hi gang Maybe a strange question, but I have collected a bunch of ways to connect to my ISY over the years (admin.jnlp, start.jnlp, different local IP and web addresses). Very few seem to work now. On web requests to open the admin console, I get an error about needing Java 2+. If I try to install admin.jnlp from the settings tab (click the Install Admin Console (internet) button), I get an error that the program can't be run due to a certificate mismatch. I have to do some debugging of my ISY system (currently all devices are listing communication errors) but before I do I want to make sure that I am using the current best method of communicating with the ISY. Cheers!
Mecheng70 Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Yes. Now you can check the error and event logs from the portal. Other than that it has its limit. What firmware do you have? Have you looked at the wiki for connecting from a MACos?
to_lighter Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 Thanks. ISY 994i. Version 4.8.0 Cheers!
madcodger Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 (edited) Personally, I found that the best method was to go to the download page for whatever release of ISY firmware you are using, and download whatever link to the admin console they have there. Still having a java-based admin console is not the best approach, in my view, but users have no control or options re that. Edited December 8, 2020 by madcodger
