Suggestions for reliable plug to monitor dishwasher?

Featured Replies

I discovered my new dishwasher has a standard three prong plug instead of hard-wired like the one it replaced.

It made me think about adding a plug to monitor energy use. I have several inexpensive z-wave plugs now around the house, but given the fact that access to the dishwasher plug will require pulling out the dishwasher, I'm looking for suggestions and experience on a plug that will last a long time.

My use case is primarily to send notifications when the dishwasher cycle is complete, but monitoring energy use during different types of cycle would be an additional benefit.

My thanks in advance for thoughts and advice.

Since the SynchroLinc was discontinued (as Insteon/SmartHome further dies)  I haven't seen any easy Insteon devices capable of doing this.

Most of the more complex solutions were wired in.

Possibly ZWave has some devices? Would be nice to hear from Zwave people about any devices they have.

Have a couple of these Zooz devices on my sump pumps.  Very happy with them.

I forgot I have one of these on my dehumidifier. It IS reliable. Maybe the reason I forgot about it. ?

I’ve used it to replace a syncrolinc to monitor dishwasher. I just hate all the zwave distance issues so I’ve got more repeaters than actual devices to make it reliable.
