Tip for using notifications with variable substitution

Here's a tip that I didn't see written anywhere. 

If you want to use variables or node status in a notification as described here (https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-994i_Series:EMail_and_Networking_Substitution_Variables)

and if your address is something like AA.0B.AA.1, the address you put into the message would be AA B AA 1 

That was not obvious to me.  I finally got it to work (with a thermostat in this case) so I'm posting this tip in case it helps others and also to help me remember someday!

Maybe someone can update that wiki page to include this detail?
