asbril Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 (edited) As I have posted before, I have one switchbox in my home where it is practically impossible to get a Neutral wire. My initial solution was to add the Ecolink switch control and this worked, but it is battery powered with heavy consumption (frequent change of batteries). It also does not have the nicest look. However it works ! Then Inovelli came out with their No Neutral needed switches and, after sweat and almost tears, I was able to include that switch to my ISY. After a few months it no longer responded in my ISY. I first did a factory reset of the switch with no result, then replaced it with a similar Inovelli switch, which also did not work, and finally went back to the Ecolink switch. A few days ago I noticed the GE Enbrighten 52252 switch which is also supposed to work without Neutral. I received it this morning. It actually does not have a Neutral connector, so it can not be used if & when you want to use it with a Neutral wire. The installation took a few minutes and it connected right away to my ISY and so far it works perfectly. I used to be impressed by Inovelli, mostly because of their innovative products, but I often have issues with their switches and light bulbs. A few months ago they posted about their future strategy and I concluded, from their explanation, that they are not very profitable and that may explain some quality issues. I wish them the best and hopefully their new strategy will work and give them a long life, but for the time being I stay away from Inovelli, focusing on GE/Jasco and Homeseer Zwave devices, though I am now also impressed by Zooz. In one situation I am using Insteon 2474DWH for lights over my kitchen peninsula which works with incandescent bulbs but not with LEDs. I'd like to find a Z-wave alternative that would allow me to use more efficient LED bulbs. I noticed the Enbrighten 52252 claims to work with LEDs. What type of bulbs are you using @asbril?
