sorka Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 Discontinued and even removed from the menu so no way to switch to external antenna. Just starting to add zwave devices but my ISY is in a metal server cabinet so I'll definitely need to get an external antenna.
Techman Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 The ISY Zwave dongle does not support an external antenna. It's best to use a Zwave repeater placed outside of the cabinet. Take a look at the Aeotec repeater. 1
sorka Posted November 11, 2021 Author Posted November 11, 2021 That repeater costs as much as other zwave plug in outlets that also advertise as being a repeater. Any reason to get a dedicated repeater if I can get one that has additional capabilities?
Techman Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 No. Both devices act as a Repeater. You should try to get a Zwave 700 series device so it won't become obsolete in the future. Aeotec makes both a 700 series plug and repeater.
