MR_CW Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Last month had to update my isy since Insteon Hub went dark. Reloaded programs, updated to add Alexa and all was well. Went to make some changes to my programs with desktop Icon. Does not work. I can access some UI panel on line that shows status and can change status but no access to the console. I get a window that says Keep this window open Nothing more works. I've updated Java, still get the same window. Would like some help in resolving this
Techman Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 What is your ISY firmware version? Clear your Java cache including applications then download the ISY launcher https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp This will place the ISY Launcher icon on your desktop 1
Brian H Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Are you using the ISY Launcher program? It picks the correct information to access the ISY994i and no longer need a different start program with the proper data for each version.
MrBill Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Make sure that you have the Oracle official Java 8 from www.java.com there are a bunch of other distributions floating around with other numbers, those aren't Oracle Java releases. Also make certain you are using The Isy Launcher which is linked above it ends in start.jnlp. The first time you run that program it will install an icon on your windows desktop called ISY Launcher to open the admin console. The method you are using in the Screenshot above has been deprecated due to browser security. Opening the admin console now does not involve any browser. 2
MR_CW Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 I'm running ISY V4.9 - Java 8 . Previously had ISY launcher on desktop. Then updated Java and when I launched ISY, said version was invalid. Tried to upload new ISY launcher and would now get this screen that say ISY launcher Not Found
mango Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 It looks like an IP issue to me? If you know the ISY IP address try pinging it.
mango Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I would start with the basics: Power cycle everything, PC, ISY, router etc. Make sure cabling is good.
MR_CW Posted June 8, 2022 Author Posted June 8, 2022 I can ping my isy. That's how I get the older blue screen window. I've powered off everything. I will will try again. 30 seconds for isy, correct?

MrBill Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Clear your java cache, you must check the box for "Installed Applications and Applets" Also delete any files you see named start.jnlp or admin.jnlp then download a fresh copy of start.jnlp from this link: https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp The first time it is run it will re-install the ISY Launcher icon on your desktop. 2

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it did not work
MR_CW Posted June 9, 2022 Author Posted June 9, 2022 So disapointing that the isy finder does not work any longer. I've tried every suggestion. Reboot everything cleared Java cache of everything. pinged ISY ( it works fine and is on network. Can access the box.
MrBill Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Perhaps you should open a support ticket support@univeral-devices.com and get some one on one assistance. I actually don't understand the problem anymore... the issue seems to have migrated from can't access the admin console using a deprecated method to ISY finder doesn't find the ISY, which is a different issue entirely and probably due to something external to the ISY eco system. Support is waiting to help you: support@universal-devices.com
